BI-O.K. ® Ethylene Oxide Biological Indicator
BI-O.K.® Ethylene Oxide Biological Indicators are self-contained biological indicators for use in monitoring EO sterilization. Vials consist of a durable polycarbonate vial with cap, a crushable glass ampoule with Tryptic Soy Broth and a disc inoculated with Bacillus atrophaeus spores.
- Self-Contained biological indicator vials for ethylene oxide
- Vials provide test results after 48 hours of incubation
- Visually distinct positive results indicated by the media transitioning from Red to Yellow
- Chemical Indicator on label provides instant indication of exposure
BI-OK® self-contained biological indicators are designed to monitor ethylene oxide sterilization. Vials are inoculated with Bacillus atrophaeus spores to challenge steam sterilization.
After the sterilization cycle, crush the glass vial with the vial activator and incubate at 37°C. A red to yellow color change in the media indicates spore growth and cycle failure.
