Body Modification

The explosive growth in the industry of body modification underscores the need for enhanced business standards and a focus on safety and health concerns, prompting the formation of professional associations. Addressing worries voiced by industry practitioners, researchers from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) embarked on visits to tattooing and piercing studios starting in the early 1990s. These visits sparked ongoing dialogues, revealing certain practices in body piercing and tattooing that may pose risks to both artists and clients. Despite its enduring allure, the art of body modification carries inherent risks. Let’s delve into strategies for ensuring its safety.
