Description
Twindicator® Perforated Steam Indicators are Type 4 chemical indicators. They monitor steam sterilization cycles at 250°F (121°C) and 273°F (134°C). Place Twindicator® strips inside of pouches, trays, or other packages. The ink on the strip turns from off-white to black when exposed to the steam sterilization process.
Product Features
- Perforated for flexibility: Each 8″ strip can be easily torn in half to create two 4″ strips, allowing you to customize the strip length to fit your needs. Each indicator strip is 1.5 cm wide by 20 cm long (0.625 in wide by 8 in long) printed with a chemical indicator ink.
- Easy to read: Twindicator® features a single stripe across the strip with an off-white to dark brown/black color change after exposure to a steam cycle.
- Reliable: ISO 11140-1:2014 Type 4 compliant steam chemical indicator
How to Use Twindicator® Perforated Steam Indicator Strips
- Put the Twindicator® indicator in the package you want to sterilize. You can tear each strip in half to create a shorter internal chemical indicator.
- Process the package according to your steam sterilization cycle.
- After the sterilization cycle is complete, remove the package and examine the Twindicator® indicator.
- If the indicator is completely black, then the contents of the package have been properly sterilized. Reprocess packages if the indicator does not change color.
